This book covers two areas of study - INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY and SUPPLYING AND
USING ENERGY. Factors which affect the rate and extent of chemical reactions and the
principles and applications of the equilibrium law are examined. The production of
ammonia, ethene, sulfuric acid or nitric acid is examined. The use and the
advantages/disadvantages of different energy sources are discussed and the
applications of calorimeters are explored. The prediction of redox reactions using the
electrochemical series and simple galvanic and electrolytic cells are covered.
